Commercial reserves estimation

Maintaining a digital database of balance reserves of oil, gas, condensate, and sulfur components with graphical documentation.

The database of hydrocarbon deposits of fields in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra maintained in the department of estimation of recoverable reserves.

Block of deposits databases (DB «Zalezh») includes current and archival database of parameters of oil deposits and fields, a graphical database of deposits contours, database of intercepts and base of scanimages of calculated plans.

Database contains digital and graphical historical data for the balance of deposits of 452 Okrug fields for more than 10-year period. In the database there are data on geological and calculated characteristics more than 4800 deposits of productive strata and licensed plots.

Annually on the basis of assignable data by companies, changes are made in about 3000 of them (about 75%): specify the calculated characteristics of objects, deposits, production activity, exploration for deposit or field, licence in case of reissue, etc. Annually in DB «Zalezh» recorded information on the results of the full and operational recalculation of hydrocarbon deposits and to defend them in RF State Reserves Committee (texts of reports, calculated plans and protocols of RF State Reserves Committee). As a result of changes made in the balance, experts of the Center perform the annual analysis of the dynamics of hydrocarbon reserves structure. Documentation support of reserves balance represented in the form of scan-images calculated plans stamped by RF State Reserves Committee.

2D geological digital modeling, operational estimate and monitoring of hydrocarbon deposits discovered in the unallocated subsoil fund on the basis of past survey

Works at construction and actualization of geological models are executed by current methodological recommendations on modern software using an integrated database.

Since 1994, NE «V.I.Shpilman RAC RUS» models of deposits and reserves are created and estimated for more than 100 fields, discovered on the results of exploration activities in unallocated subsoil fund. As a result of protection of these field's deposits in the organs of state examination, about 400 millions of tons of initial geological oil reserves in the amount of C1 + C2 were placed on the State balance.

Many of these fields have been put up for auction on the proposal to use for geological study and acquired by subsoil users in the licensing rounds, held in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra.

2D+3D geological digital modeling and calculation of hydrocarbon deposits of the allocated subsoil fund with defence in RF State Reserves Committee

Works at construction and actualization of geological models are executed by current methodological recommendations on modern software using an integrated database by the iterative technology:

correlation of well profiles and selection of objects, processing and analysis of geophysicalproduction and seismic data, substantiation of calculated characteristics, fluid contacts and principal model, the geological construction.

The technology is implemented on modern software developed by specialists of the Centre, and leading firms of this direction (Irab RMS of Roxar company) with using regional regularities and integrated database.

Modeling can be performed both 2D, and 3D, depending on tasks.

Models can be of any complexity (lithologic- stratigraphical limited, etc.) with estimated accuracy of calculated reserves of oil and gas.

Correlation of well profiles and localization support (separation) of modeling objects is performed using computer technology, directory of stratigraphic boundaries from Center Database and regional regularities, which is especially important for non-anticline type traps.

Construction of the structural frame also performed on the basis of Center Database of Yugra with restoration of several fields of seismic reflector, at the multilayer fields (M, B, U1, T, etc.) by complex software of Landmark. In the process of construction results of investigations of different seismic crews and prospect drilling conform.

Petrophysical modeling is performed based on a comprehensive analysis of all information of studies of core samples and taken into account regional regularities of changes in filtration-capacitive characteristics of reservoirs. Processing, interpretation of wells log materials and petrophysical modeling performed using bundle software «Geopoisk».

Modeling of digital three-dimensional geological models of fields is performed using software Irab RMS of Roxar in accordance with requirements of «Methodological instructions on creating permanent geological- technological models of oil and gas fields».

Jointly with various related departments of the Centre there were carried out works on 2D+3D geologic modeling and oil and gas reserves estimation with subsequent confirmation by the State Committee on Reserves for Novoaganskoye, Polun'yakhskoye, Severo- Var'yeganskoye, Kolik-Yeganskoye, Urnenskoye, Ust-Tegusskoye, Ruf- Yeganskoye, Bystrinskoye, Severo-Konitlorskoye, Pravdinskoe, Pylinskoe, Centralno- Pylinskoe, Zapadno-Chumpasskoe, Severo-Kochevskoe and Kochevskoye fields.

Retrospective analysis of historical materials, construction and updating of geological models, the operational recalculation of hydrocarbons deposits of «aged» fields of unallocated subsoil fund

A retrospective analysis and updating of geological models of deposits with the operational recalculation of reserves of hydrocarbon accumulations is performed by the Center in connection with:

– state change of studied fields at the expense of performed volumes of geological and exploration works during the reporting period;

– replenishment of Database by historical geological and geophysical materials;

– restoration of geological pools structure (materials 60-80-ies).

All work is accompanied by the creation of computer projects on which construction (update) of geological field models is carried out. Revaluation of hydrocarbons reserves is carried out in geological models on the classification of 2005. As a result of changes in the state of study (the new drilling data, well tests, interpretation and reinterpretation of seismic data) actualized the geological models and recalculate hydrocarbon reserves of Ai-Kurusskiy, Ai-Yaunskiy, Gavrikovskiy, Gustorechenskiy, Zapadno-Livadiyskiy, Iulskiy, It'yahskiy, Kumskoy, Maloklyuchevoy, Maloyuganskiy, Novonyalinskiy, Okrainniy, Severo-Yagunskiy and Uzhno-Vatlorskiy fields. As a result of recalculate geological hydrocarbon reserves of about 30 million ton obtained.

Appraisal of reports related to the hydrocarbon reserves estimation and organization of meetings of the expert commission of FSE West-Siberian subsidiary of the Reserves State Committee

In 2006, the West-Siberian subdivision of the Reserves State Committee created in Tyumen, which deals with reports on the estimation of hydrocarbon deposits in the territory of the Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, south of the Tyumen region and Tomsk, Omsk and Novosibirsk regions.

Experts of the Center realize the reception of reports materials for examination, selection of experts, organization of working meetings and preparation of expert opinions. In addition, work on the examination of fields reserves, assignable for consideration in the West-Siberian subdivision of the Reserves State Committee is performed.

As a result of examination changes introduce in the State Balance of hydrocarbon reserves.

• Appraisal of reports related to the hydrocarbon reserves estimation and organization of meetings of the expert commission of FSE West-Siberian subdivision of the Reserves State Committee.
